	The mission of “Heart & Hands” Doula Service is to be in service to women. Our vision is to provide support to women before, during and after the childbirth. Since the beginning of time women helped other women with childbearing and beyond to maintain the survival of the species. This caring assistance by experienced women became a tradition handed down through the ages that led to confident mothers. Our goal is to support women physically, emotionally, informationally, spiritually and to provide mediation. Being in service to women in these ways brings back the tried and true methods of educating, supporting and encouraging new mothers. Research validates tremendous benefits for the mother, her baby, the family, labor itself and the postpartum period afterwards. Our Doula Services Birth - Three Levels of expertise - Trained, Certified and Coordinator Postpartum - Three Levels of expertise Traditional – this doula generally comes to the home after the baby is born and provides mother care, baby care, sibling care, light housekeeping, meal preparation and errand running. She can also begin at the hospital with breastfeeding assistance, for example. Childcare – this doula attends to siblings either at home or at the birth place while the parents are busy birthing, Overnight – this doula provides just baby care so parents can get a good night’s rest Antepartum - Support for high risk mothers Provided at Home before the baby comes “Doula for a Day”- (before/after the baby comes) At home or hospital - 4 hr. min.
